Energise Your Security
High-security perimeter protection, electric fencing and intrusion detection. Engineered in Britain, deployed worldwide.
The Threat Is Real
The threat to your perimeter never clocks off. Metal theft, sabotage and intrusion cost industry dearly, and for critical infrastructure, the real price of a breach is disruption to essential services.
What We Protect
Protection for the places that cannot fail.
Product Ecosystem
One integrated system around your site.
Each APS product forms a coordinated layer of protection, from the Pulstar™-energised fence line to detection across the open approach, all unified under a single command platform.
Why APS
Engineered authority you can build a perimeter on.
UK Manufactured

Perimeter security questions, answered by the manufacturer.
What does Advanced Perimeter Systems manufacture?
APS designs and manufactures high-security perimeter protection at its factory in Stirling, Scotland. The range covers Electro-Fence non-lethal pulsed electric fencing, Flexiguard microphonic sensor cable for fence lines and warehouse walls, Microguard microwave and photo-electric beam detection, Omni Guard perimeter radar and Multisys security management software, backed by in-house spares and repairs.
Is an APS electric fence safe?
Yes. Electro-Fence is a non-lethal electric fence. Its energisers deliver a brief pulse (9.9 kV no-load, 2 to 5 joules, one pulse every 1.2 seconds) within the limits set by BS EN IEC 60335-2-76, the safety standard for electric fence energisers. The shock is sharp and memorable but engineered not to injure, and the gap between pulses means anyone touching the fence can always let go.
Which sectors and countries does APS work in?
APS systems protect sites on six continents, supported from bases in the United Kingdom and the United States. Typical clients are critical national infrastructure, utilities, data centres, defence and government estates, prisons, ports, airports, solar farms, mining, logistics and commercial premises.
Does APS install its own systems?
APS equipment is delivered through a global network of distributors and approved installers, with APS engineers supporting specifiers and installers directly on design, drawings, commissioning and training. Use the Find your local partner form on the partners page to be put in touch with an installer in your region.
Which accreditations does APS hold?
APS is ISO 9001 certified, a member of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and a Secured by Design partner. Electro-Fence and Flexiguard are NPSA assured (the UK National Protective Security Authority, formerly CPNI).
Can APS perimeter systems run without mains power?
Yes. Every APS detection system is engineered for extremely low power consumption, so complete perimeter protection can run on solar panels and batteries with wireless alarm transmission. A Flexiguard analyser draws just 0.5 watts on average, and the approach is proven on off-grid UK solar farm deployments.
Do APS systems integrate with an existing security platform?
Yes. Every APS system provides dry relay contact outputs, so alarms can be passed to any existing control room platform, CCTV or video management system or access control system. Where a single command picture is wanted, Multisys brings every APS technology together over RS485 with graphical site maps and full event logging.
Does APS still support older installations?
Yes. APS systems are backwards compatible, so installations 10, 20 years old and older remain supported. APS holds spare parts for current and legacy equipment and repairs its own printed circuit boards at component level in Stirling, with repair and testing turned around in 48 hours from arrival, excluding shipping.
